Back Take
Chain finish · Open Guard
Finish the rotation with one hook in, climb his back with your hands from the pants to the belt and the collar, take the seatbelt grip, then insert the second hook.
How to do it
- Finish the berimbolo spin behind them, bringing your chest up to their back so there is no space between you.
- Take the seatbelt grip: one arm over their shoulder, the other under their armpit, hands clasped on their chest, your head tight beside theirs.
- Insert the first hook, then the second: heels inside their thighs, feet apart, never crossed.
- Tilt them to the side of the underarm grip, onto your lower arm, so their weight falls onto your hip and they cannot turn in to face you.
Key details
- Chest to their back, no space: any gap is the room they need to turn and slip out.
- Seatbelt before hooks: the upper body connection holds them while your legs work in.
- Tilt them to the side of your lower arm: falling to that side, their shoulder is trapped under your arm and they cannot escape to the mat.
- From here attack the choke: keep the seatbelt and hooks, and only then free the top arm for the collar or the rear naked choke.
Common mistakes
- Hooks before the seatbelt, with space between you. — Any space between chest and back lets them turn and slip out. — Close the space with your chest first, then put the hooks in.
- Crossing the feet. — Crossed feet in front are easy to trap for a foot lock. — Keep the heels inside their thighs and the feet apart.
- Going for the neck first. — Both hands go to the neck and nothing holds the body, so they escape before you have control. — Seatbelt and hooks first, choke after.
How to drill it
